...Standard - your health matters.
Accessible Information Standard
The practice has an obligation to ask patients if they have any information or communication needs. This will be recorded in the medical notes and shared with other NHS organisations patients may have to access to enable the organisations to take steps to ensure patients receive information which they can access and understand and receive professional communication support if they need it.
The Accessible Information Standard aims to ensure that people who have a disability or sensory loss receive information that they can access and understand, e.g. in large print, via email or British Sign Language interpreter. Please do let us know if you have any requirements or know of a patient who requires support. For further information, please follow the link(s) below.
Charities including Action on Hearing Loss, CHANGE, Sense and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) will also be able to provide further support.
