How to Raise a Query About Your Prescription
We have a team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians working within the practice who, unlike your Community Pharmacy, have full access to your medical record.
They have specialist knowledge and expertise in Medicines which makes them the most suitable people to speak to about your prescription queries.
Our Practice Pharmacists can help you with...
- Ordering Non-Repeat Medications
- Medicines Out of Stock
- New Medications issues by the Hospital
- Synchronising Medication
How do I order a Medication that is not on Repeat Prescription?
You cannot request non-repeat prescriptions electronically. If you need to request a medication that we have prescriber before, but is not on your repeat prescription, please contact the surgery.
Your request will be reviewed by our Pharmacy Team, and if appropriate, will be requested from the GP.
Where appropriate, we will add this medication to your repeat prescription. Please be aware this may not be possible for all medications.
What can I do if my Medication is out of stock?
Please speak to your Community Pharmacy, they should be able to tell you when the item will be back in stock, and suggest a suitable alternative medication that is in stock.
Once you have this information, please call the surgery who will pass this information to our Pharmacy Team.
The Hospital have started me on a new Medication. How will this be added to my Repeat Prescription?
The Hospital has to inform us of any medication changes within 28 days. When we have received this information, time will be set aside for our Pharmacy Team to make any changes to your prescription.
Our team will text or email you once these changes have been completed.
If it has been more than 28 days, please contact the surgery to check we have received the letter.
My Prescriptions need ordering at different times! How do I change this?
If you need to order your repeat prescriptions at different times throughout the month, please contact the surgery.
We will book time with our Pharmacy Team, who will ask you how many tablets you have left, and issue a one-off prescription of the required amounts so they can all be ordered on the same day going forward.
