HOW TO REQUEST A HOME VISIT

Requests for home visits should be made before 10.30am where possible.

All doctors in the practice make home visits during the hours 8.00am - 6.20pm. Arrangements for visiting are made each day according to the availability of doctors and pressure of work in the surgery.

Home visits generally involve a lot more of the doctor's time than a surgery consultation; we would, therefore, ask you to request a home visit only when it is impossible for you to attend the surgery. We are always willing to make arrangements for patients to be seen without waiting if their clinical condition justifies it. Always state the patient's full name and address and give brief details of the illness.

Telephone Advice

Sometimes you may want advice on a health problem or medication and simply wish to talk to the doctor on the telephone. If you ask the receptionist for a telephone consultation, the receptionist can ask a doctor to call you back. Please give the receptionist a telephone number upon which you will be available to speak throughout the day. It is very helpful to let the receptionist know what it concerns so that we have the necessary records available.
